The Candied Yams

You say po-TAY-TOE , they say po-TAH-TOE, well we say YAMS! Candied yams allow you the taste without the stress of pie making for the first time baking.

The Ingredients | “Les Ingrédients”

3 pounds Sweet Potato

1 cup Butter (231 g)

¾ cup white sugar

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp nutmeg

⅛ salt

½ tsp Vanilla

9x13 baking dish

Aluminum Foil

The Steps| L’étape

Step 1: Peel Sweet Potatoes the cut them into ½ inch slices

Step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Step 3: In a bowl, melt 1 cup of butter, add the cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla, mix until well combined.

Step 4: Place your sweet potatoes into the baking dish in no particular fashion. The sweet potatoes will be mixed later during the bake.

Step 5: Pour the Spice, Sugar, and Butter mixture over the sweet potatoes and provide a light mix and Cover with aluminum foil

Step 6: Cook for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. After 30 minutes, remove sweet potatoes from the oven and give a brilliant mix and then return to cook uncovered for 30-45 more minutes, depending on your oven. Cook until fork-tender.

Once the sweet potatoes are fork-tender, remove from the heat and allow to slightly cool and enjoy!
